About
Our mission.
The Liberal Action Network connects and defends independent creators who vigorously champion liberal democracy.
We formed in response to a simple reality: liberal voices online face organized, well-funded harassment — coordinated doxxing, intimidation, and swarming, often backed by bad-faith political actors and hostile foreign interests. Alone, creators are easy targets. Together, we are not.
We are built on three commitments:
Mutual defense
When one of us is targeted, the rest show up – not to mirror the tactics used against us, but to offer real support, solidarity, and a community that has each other’s backs.
Coordinated, authentic action
We organize around shared goals and surface the conversations that matter, while every member speaks in their own voice. No marching orders. No copy-paste talking points. Coordination amplifies us; authenticity is what makes us worth listening to.
Building the community
We exist to lift up creators large and small and to keep liberalism a place where people find a home — not a pipeline to extremism. We support friendly voices proactively and guard against radicalization on every flank.
We are a broad tent united by one non-negotiable: a commitment to liberal democracy. We are selective, but never secretive — our purpose, our principles, and our leadership are open to anyone who asks.
Part of Project Liberal
Who's behind LANLAN is built and operated under Project Liberal — the organization behind the network, its infrastructure, and its standards.
Project Liberal exists to strengthen liberal democracy in public life. LAN is its front line online: a place for the creators doing that work to find each other, coordinate, and have backup when they're targeted for it.
That backing matters. It means the network has a name to answer to, a consistent set of principles, and the resources to keep the tools running and the community safe — rather than a loose group that disappears when it's inconvenient.
It also means we can be accountable. If you want to know who runs this and why, ask.
